Federal or state law may require collection of donor’s personal data. Federal law requires us to collect (and disclose) the name, mailing address, occupation, employer, and primary business location of all individuals who donate more than $200 per election cycle.
Machine Generated Information: When you access or use our Digital Touchpoints your computer generates and shares standard information about you and how you use our Digital Touchpoints. Your electronic devices specifically create logs which track your usage and interaction with Digital Touchpoints. This includes but may not be limited to the version of hardware or software, time stamps, page visits, IP address or other unique identifiers which help us localize our online marketing efforts to focus our efforts or Digital Touchpoints to better meet your informational needs of our outreach. Cookies and other tracking technologies assist our direct efforts and that of our third-party services. Data from your purchase or donation transaction information might also inform our campaign’s effort.

The data we collect allows third party services and websites to use similar digital tools we use to target advertisements for our campaign on their digital properties. These entities use digital tracking technology to collect data about your use of our Digital Touchpoints and other websites and applications. This may include but may not be limited to your IP address, web browser, mobile network, pages views, clicks, and non-identifiable online user behavior. Data collected enables us to measure your online activity to deliver effective advertising and viral content on our Digital Touchpoints and other websites.
We harness your data to manage our Digital Touchpoints and campaign or election related operations. This includes but may not be limited to processing donations, sending updates, or producing event registration confirmation and receipts. We also use your data to recruit and stay engaged with volunteers and the electorate. We also collect state or federally mandated donor information to comply with election reporting regulations. Your data also helps us encourage you register and vote. We will collaborate in solidarity with other efforts and organizations that share our campaign’s commitment to elect Rommell as California’s next US Senator. Your data may help that cause by sharing it with services, websites, volunteers, experts, and merchants who need it execute typical campaign operations. This will include but is not limited to sending items you purchase from our campaign, collecting donations, or sending you other material. Data shared with other organizations will be subject to that third party’s privacy policy instead of ours. Your data will help us fundraise and comply with required reporting about whomever contributes more than $200 in an election cycle to Federal Election Commission or state agencies. This required reporting typically includes names, personal addresses, occupation, employer, and primary business locations. We are required to comply with any government authorities related to national security or law enforcement and this might include sharing your data. We will share your data at your request or with your permission. We will publicly announce fundraising amount totals as an indication of our success across different demographic segments.
GDPR
General Data Protection Regulation allows you to opt out of communications, mobile push notifications or alerts, corrections, request updates, or request your data be deleted. There are some data we are required to retain in accordance to laws or regulations. Account or campaign management imperatives may require we reach out to you, even if you opt out of promotional messages.
